UNESCO Global Geoparks are special areas where the geological heritage, or geodiversity, is of international importance. And each geopark should make efforts to spread geoscience to the general public, by interpretation panels or educational activities.

In order to spread awareness of geological heritage and its links to other aspects of our natural, cultural and intangible heritage, Shilin Geopark set up 6 interpretation panels on fossils, soil and depression,etc, in the Major Stone Forest Scenic Area, which is the most visited area in the Geopark.

The new logo of UNESCO Global Geopark was used in the panels, increasing the visibility of UGGps.
