Popular science lectures and photo exhibition of sister geoparks were conducted at Baidacun Middle School of Shilin County on 25 April. Geopark staff of Shilin gave lectures for 759 school students, covering the philosophy and topics of UNESCO Global Geoparks, the total number and distribution of UGGps around the world, the importance of geoheritage protection, overview of the Shilin UGGp, etc.

Photo exhibition of sister geoparks demonstrating geological features, biodiversity, colorful culture, etc. helped students appreciate the exceptional beauty of the geoparks in China, get to know the diversified geoheritage and geomorphological attractions of these geoparks. Mr. Huang Xiangguang, the principal of Baidacun Middle School said that he really embraced such activities because they enriched students’ knowledge outside the classroom, and expanded their horizons.
