On July 6, Joint Marketing Seminar of Southeast Yunnan Karst Culture Tourist Areas was held in Stone Forest. Stone Forest Scenic Area organized Southeast Karst Tourism Union jointly with several scenic areas of such prefectures and cities as Kunming, Yuxi, Honghe, Wenshan and Qujing to jointly launch four selected tourist lines including Deep Traveling of Stone Forest, Jiuxiang – Stone Forest – Alu Cave Karst Traveling, Southeast Yunnan Karst Culture Traveling and South China Karst Traveling. 

Located in the east and southeast of Yunnan Province, Southeast Yunnan Karst Culture Tourist Area consists of South of Qujing, Honghe Prefecture, Wenshan Prefecture and Shilin County and Yiliang County of Kunming. Presently, “Baoshan – Tengchong – Ruili” Tourist Line of Middle and West Yunnan, “Kunming – Dali – Lijiang – Shangri-La” Tourist Line of Northwest Yunnan and Great Mekong Cross-Border Tourist Area (Xishuangbanna Tourist Line) of Southwest Yunnan have become popular tourist lines of Yunnan Province, listed as one of top ten tourist lines of China. However, Southeast Yunnan Karst Culture Tourist Area has been at the periphery of tourism in Yunnan although it has beautiful landscapes, abundant resources and colorful culture.

This time, several scenic areas of Southeast Yunnan joined to organize the Southeast Yunnan Karst Tourism Union. According to the characteristics and features of the area in different seasons and led by practical guiding traveling strategies, the Union emphasizes six elements including “eating, living, traveling, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment. Centered on Stone Forest, the Union integrated the resources of related scenic areas including Yiliang and Jiuxiang of Kunming, Luliang, Shizong and Luoping of Qujing, Luxi, Mile and Yuanyang of Honghe, Puzhehei and Guangnan of Wenshan, Jianshui and Yuxi, and it extended to Xingyi Maling River, Wanfeng Forest and Wanfeng Lake of Guizhou, Huangguoshu and Libo of Anshun to develop a top-grade karst tourism destination in Southeast Yunnan. By so doing, it will fully display the natural landscape and cultural essence of karst in South China, overall improve the core competitiveness of the regional tourism in Southeast Yunnan and develop itself into the core growth pole for tourism of Yunnan.  

On the Seminar, Stone Forest launched the Deep Tourist Line of Stone Forest of Kunming – Yuxi – Honghe – Wenshan – Qujing Line jointly with several scenic areas to radiate the whole county centered on Stone Forest Scenic Area; Jiuxiang – Stone Forest – Alu Cave Selected Karst Tourist Line to radiate the neighboring counties (Jiuxiang, Shilin, Alu Cave and Old Village of Chengzi) centered on Stone Forest Scenic Area; Southeast Yunnan Karst Culture Tourist Line to radiate Southeast Yunnan (Kunming – Honghe – Wenshan – Qujing) centered on Stone Forest Scenic Area; and South China Selected Karst Tourist Line to radiate the neighboring provinces and regions centered on Stone Forest Scenic Area.
