The 4th International UNESCO Conference on Geoparks was held from April 12 - 15, 2010 in Langkawi Global Geopark, Kedah, Malaysia. The theme of this conference is“Global Geoparks–The Natural Way Forward”. 423 delegates from 27 countries have been present to share research and construction experience and discuss the future of GGN. Shilin Global Geopark representatives attended the conference and conducted in-depth exchanges with other geoparks.

The conference included opening ceremony, poster session, keynote address, mid-conference Geopark exploration, workshop report, closing ceremony. 10 topics were discussed on the workshop:

3.Community Involvement

4.Tourism and  Geopark

5.Environmental Changes

6.Quality Management

7.Global and Regional Network

8.New and Aspring Geopark

9.Geopark and Sustainable Development

10.Advancement of Geoscience

Parallel to the Conference was the 2nd Geopark Fair. Shilin attended the Geopark Fair, in which the beautiful designed panels with text and image give a full picture of the Shilin Global Geopark.
