The 1st International Workshop on Metropolitan Global Geopark & the 3rd  International Comprehensive Field Workshop on Geopark was organized by Mudeungsan UNESCO Global Geopark, Republic of Korea on 25 - 28 October 2019. Representative from Shilin UGGp attended it with the invitation of Mudeungsan UGGp.

The theme of the symposium was "Metropolitan Global Geopark and Geotourism", and 12 representatives from scientific research institutes and Gobal geoparks in seven countries, including China, France, Ethiopia, the Czech Republic, Mongolia, Myanmar and South Korea, participated in the symposium.

The symposium included academic presentation and field trips. The participants made  study field trips and the focus on Climate Change, volcanism and colonnades, geovillage and geotourism. Representative from Shilin made a presentation themed “Shilin UNESCO Global Geopark, an Established Geotourism Destination”.

This symposium enhanced people from different countries more closer and improve the UGGp quality and brand.
