Stone Forest has been invited to attend the Fourth International Congress of Global Geopark held by UNESCO in Pulau Langkawi of Malaysia. Representatives and relevant stuffs of 61 Global Geopark participated in the congress.

The theme of the congress is "Global Gepark – Marching in a natural way"; The purpose of the meeting is to seek the best way to overall sustainable development of the Geopark region; the main topics of the congress are: The geological relics exchange; Youth and geological park; Communities participation and geopark, Environment and geopark, Quality management and geopark; Global and regional geopark network; Tourism and geopark; New and intent geoparks, Organization structure and geopark.

As the only Global Geopark of Yunnan Province, Stone Forest took part in the exhibition. At its exhibition booth, Stone Forest showed the typical geological characteristics, scientific value and aesthetic value of global geopark to the audiences by vivid pictures and articles. The artistic and comprehensive pictures in high definition at the Stone Forest’s booth have receive a good appraisal from all audiences. UN officials and VIP delegates also visited the booth of Stone Forest, the comments from the geological experts Chen Anze and professor Zhao Xun were also positive.

The congress also set up group discussion and research on different topics about the global geoparks.

Every one who participated in this congress obtained a lot from the exhibition. Parks have taken advantage of this platform to fulfill exchanges and communication with one and another to exchange material and tourism information. Stone Forest not only got more theoretical knowledge about geopark, but also collected a lot of valuable information, and made propaganda for the Stone Forest at the same time, so that more people could know about the stone forest!
